Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026
At SEO Perception, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our service. SEO Perception is an SEO analytics platform that uses Google Search Console data and website crawling to provide insights.
1. Who We Are
SEO Perception is available at seoperception.com. We provide an SEO analytics service that combines data from Google Search Console with crawled page data (metadata, links, status codes) for websites you add to your account.
2. Data We Collect
When you use SEO Perception, we may collect the following data:
2.1 Account and Authentication Data
- When you sign in with Google: email address, profile information, and session data.
- We use this to identify you, manage your account, and control access to your data.
2.2 Google Search Console (GSC) Data
- When you connect GSC: OAuth access and refresh tokens, token expiry, and the GSC properties you authorize.
- We use these tokens to fetch search performance data (e.g. clicks, impressions, queries) from Google's APIs on your behalf. This data is stored to power your dashboard and is not shared with third parties for advertising.
2.3 Website and Crawl Data
- When you add a website: the URLs and domains you add, and the results of our crawls (page metadata, links, HTTP status codes, and similar technical data).
- When we crawl your added websites, our crawler identifies itself via the User-Agent SEO-Perception-Crawler/1.0 (+https://seoperception.com/crawler) (crawler information) so you can identify our requests in your server logs.
2.4 Payment Data
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store full payment card details on our servers. Please refer to our payment provider's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Provide and maintain SEO Perception's functionality.
- Fetch and display Google Search Console data for your authorized properties.
- Crawl your added websites and store page data to provide SEO insights.
- Manage your account, subscription, and access control.
- Send you service-related notifications and, where applicable, product updates.
4. Data Security
We prioritize the security of your data by:
- Encrypting tokens and sensitive information where appropriate.
- Using secure transmission (e.g. HTTPS) between your browser, our servers, and third-party APIs.
- Limiting data storage to what is required for the service to function.
5. Website Analytics
We use a self-hosted Umami instance (served from statistics.tedauto.net) to measure aggregate traffic on seoperception.com—page
views, referrers, device/browser type, and similar technical metrics. Umami is configured for
privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics: it does not use advertising cookies, does not build
cross-site advertising profiles, and does not sell your data. Because this analytics setup is
privacy-oriented and does not rely on non-essential tracking cookies, it loads for all
visitors without a separate cookie-consent banner. Details are on our Cookies page.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies and similar storage so the product works (for example, keeping you signed in). Product analytics via Umami does not require marketing or advertising cookies. See the Cookies page for categories and retention.
7. Third-Party Services
- Google APIs: We use Google OAuth and the Search Console API to access data you authorize. All interactions are subject to your consent and Google's policies.
- PageSpeed Insights: When you run a PageSpeed check in the app, we send the page URL to Google's public PageSpeed Insights API and store the returned scores and suggestions in your workspace.
- Umami (self-hosted): Aggregate website analytics as described in section 5.
Data is processed on infrastructure we control at
statistics.tedauto.net, not sent to Google Analytics. - Microsoft Clarity: When enabled, we may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our marketing and product pages (for example, heatmaps and aggregated session insights). Clarity processes data according to Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Payment provider: Subscription and payment processing are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full payment details.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Revoke Google Search Console access at any time (via your Google account or our disconnect options).
- Request deletion of your stored data by contacting us.
- Opt out of marketing or promotional communications where we send them.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
