Cookies

This page explains how SEO Perception uses cookies and similar technologies on seoperception.com, and how we measure traffic with privacy-friendly analytics.
1. Summary
- Essential cookies are used so you can sign in, stay signed in, and use the product securely.
- Website analytics uses self-hosted Umami. It is cookieless by design for visitor measurement and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not use Google Analytics (GA4) on this site. Because Umami analytics does not rely on non-essential tracking cookies, we do not show a cookie-consent banner for analytics alone.
2. Essential cookies and storage
These are required for the service to work. Examples include:
- Session / authentication: httpOnly session cookies so we know you are signed in and can protect account actions.
- Security / flow helpers: short-lived cookies used during sign-in (for example OAuth state) or similar one-time flows.
- Preferences: local storage for UI choices such as light/dark theme (not used for advertising).
Without essential cookies, you generally cannot use a logged-in account. Disabling them in your browser may break sign-in and related features.
3. Analytics (Umami)
We measure aggregate usage with a self-hosted Umami instance at statistics.tedauto.net. Typical data includes page URL, referrer,
browser/OS/device class, screen size, language, and coarse location derived from IP (for example
country). It is not used to build advertising profiles or to sell personal data.
Umami’s tracker is loaded for all visitors so we can understand traffic and improve the product. It does not set advertising cookies. For more on how we handle personal data in the product itself (accounts, Search Console, crawls), see our Privacy Policy.
4. Optional product tooling
When configured, we may also load Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and aggregated session insights on marketing or product pages. Clarity is separate from Umami and is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will affect sign-in and account use. Browser extensions or “Do Not Track” settings may also limit analytics collection depending on your setup.
6. Contact
